This coming Friday is a regular national holiday. The President, through the Executive Secretary, issued Proclamation No. 1397, declaring Friday, 12 October 2007, as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eidl Fitr (Feast Of Ramadhan). The full text of Proclamation No. 1397 is reproduced below.]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">PROCLAMATION NO. 1397<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">DECLARING FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2007 AS A REGULAR HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY IN OBSERVANCE OF EIDL FITR (FEAST OF RAMADHAN)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9177 declared Eidl Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan) as a regular holiday throughout the country;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WHEREAS, Eidl Fitr , celebrated by the Muslim world for three (3) days after the end of the month of fasting;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WHEREAS, the implementation of RA 9177 shall be under the supervision of the Office on Muslim Affairs (OMA) which shall promulgate rules and regulations pursuant to the provisions of said Act;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WHEREAS, for this year, the month of Ramadhan may culminate either on October 12 or 13, 2007 subject to the sighting of the new moon on October 11, 2007;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WHEREAS, according to OMA, the main date for the celebration of Eid&#8217;l Fitr this year has been determined to fall on Friday, October 12, 2007;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WHEREAS, in order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid&#8217;l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, it is necessary to declare Friday, October 12, 2007 as regular holiday throughout the country;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, October 12, 2007 as a regular holiday throughout the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Done in the City of Manila, this 1st day of October, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Seven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Sgd.)
