[In a Memorandum<\/em> dated 7 April 2020, the Executive Secretary, acting for the President, extended the effectivity of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) until 30 April 2020<\/strong> (effectively extended until 15 May 2020<\/a> in high-risk areas; see definitive guidelines under Executive Order No. 112<\/a>). This covers only Luzon<\/strong>, but Local Government Units (LGUs) outside Luzon are free to modify their ECQ periods. This effectively extends the period for the grace period for loans<\/a> and rents<\/a>, duty-free importation<\/a>, holiday pay<\/a>, and anti-hoarding<\/a>, among others. TO : HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS, AGENCIES, OFFICES AND INSTRUMENTALITIES OF THE GOVERNMENT, GOVERNMENT-OWNED OR -CONTROLLED CORPORATIONS (GOCCs), GOVERNMENT FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS (GFIs), STATE UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES ((SUCs) AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS (LGUs)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUBJECT : EXTENSION OF THE ENHANCED COMMUNITY QUARANTINE OVER THE ENTIRE LIZON UNTIL 30 APRIL 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

DATE : 7 APRIL 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 11469<\/a> or the “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act<\/a>,” Proclamation Nos. 929<\/a> and 922<\/a> (s. 2020), upon the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infections Diseases (IATF) in its Joint Resolution No. 20 (s. 2020) dated 06 April 2020, the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) over the entire Luzon is hereby extended until 11:59 p.m. of 30 April 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All concerned agencies are therefore directed to continue implementing existing guidelines relative to the ECQ during the period of extension, without prejudice to this Office’s discretion on the relaxation of the implementation of the ECQ in certain areas, or the grant of exemptions in favor of certain sectors, as public health and food security considerations may warrant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, such extension of the ECQ shall be without prejudice to the lifting or modification of existing guidelines, as may be approved by the IATF without need of further approval from this Office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
