These holidays are the <strong>Araw ng Kagitingan<\/strong> (9 April 2020), <strong>Maundy Thursday<\/strong> (9 April 2020), <strong>Good Friday<\/strong> (10 April 2020), <strong>Black Saturday<\/strong> (11 April 2020), <strong>Labor Day<\/strong> (1 May 2020) and <strong>Eid&#8217;l Fitr <\/strong>or Ramadhan (24 May 2020). The next scheduled under <a href=\"https:\/\/pnl-law.com\/blog\/proclamation-no-845-full-text-declaring-the-regular-and-special-national-holidays-for-2020\/\">Proclamation No. 845<\/a> is <strong>Independence Day<\/strong> (12 June 2020), which will most likely be covered by community quarantine.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Holiday pay in the Philippines is computed at 100% of the pay, even if unworked, for monthly-paid employees (no-work, no-pay for daily-paid employees). Holiday pay is\u00a0 200% if worked, for both monthly-paid and daily-paid employees. April 9 is a rare double holiday, which means holiday pay is <a href=\"https:\/\/pnl-law.com\/blog\/double-holiday-araw-ng-kagitingan-on-april-9-good-friday-on-april-10-and-special-nonworking-day-on-april-11-labor-advisory-no-13\/\">300%<\/a>. [See Labor Advisory Nos. <a href=\"https:\/\/pnl-law.com\/blog\/double-holiday-araw-ng-kagitingan-on-april-9-good-friday-on-april-10-and-special-nonworking-day-on-april-11-labor-advisory-no-13\/\">13<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pnl-law.com\/blog\/computation-deferment-of-holiday-pay-on-1-may-2020-labor-day-a-regular-holiday\/\">15<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/pnl-law.com\/blog\/regular-holiday-on-25-may-2020-computation-of-holiday-pay-labor-advisory-no-20-series-of-2020\/\">20<\/a>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assuming an employee is entitled to holiday pay, the payment is <strong>deferred<\/strong> &#8220;in view of the existence of a national emergency arising from the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation. Payment shall be made when the present emergency situation has been abated and the normal operations of the establishment is in place.&#8221; In other words, the deferment will last, at the earliest, when the community quarantine is lifted.
