P&L Law Firm is a professional law partnership engaged in proactive legal services, providing effective solutions for corporate and business matters, as well as personal legal issues. P&L Law Firm is duly registered under the laws of the Philippines, with offices in Metro Manila. The founding partners are Messrs Fred B. Pamaos and Jesson G. Labao.

FRED B. PAMAOS

Mr. Pamaos is the Managing Partner of P&L-Law. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, cum laude, and Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines.

 

He honed his legal skills in two of the leading law firms in the country, starting in 2000. His stint with these two large Makati law firms enabled Mr. Pamaos to gain valuable experience in commercial, criminal and civil litigation, as well as in corporate and banking law.  Mr. Pamaos has also served as the head of the Legal Department of a Makati-based real estate company.

 

He is serving as the country representative and counsel of foreign companies, including companies in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector and in Export Processing Zones. In corporate law, his experience includes company registration, regulatory compliance, corporate housekeeping, business structuring, merger and acquisitions, and corporate rehabilitation.

 

He also has extensive experience in the labor practice area, as well as in litigating before various quasi-judicial and administrative bodies. He consistently delivers lectures and writes articles in labor law.

 

Mr. Pamaos has experience in dealing with banking and quasi-banking corporations and their myriad concerns, including credit collection, credit card merchants and cardholders, deposits and investments concerns, special projects, foreclosure proceedings and due diligence.

 

He has a keen interest on the internet, in terms of operational (codes, processes, structure, systems) and legal frameworks (e.g., intellectual property, data privacy, security, e-commerce, cryptocurrencies).

 

As part of his community work, Mr. Pamaos served as a Supervising Lawyer at the UP College of Law Office of Legal Aid (OLA) and currently supervises the Philippine e-Legal Forum (pnl-law.com/blog).

JESSON G. LABAO

Mr. Labao obtained his education from the University of the Philippines (AB Political Science) and Arellano University (Bachelor of Laws). He holds a master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) – Major in Taxation, as well as a Basic Competency on Local Treasury Examination (BCLT) – Local Treasury Eligibility from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

 

He has extensive experience in taxation, government regulatory compliance, real estate, and local government finance. He is also well-versed in labor law and various commercial laws, including the preparation and implementation of contracts.

 

He served as the Legal Officer of the Quezon City Treasurer’s Office and, subsequently, Chief of the Real Estate Division. He also served as a consultant of the Philippine National Oil Corporation (PNOC) – Exploration Corporation.

 

Mr. Labao has a keen interest on financial technology (fintech) businesses, telecoms industry and general construction industry dispute resolution. He is a PCAB-certified Authorized Managing Officer.

 

He is on leave from P&L Law Firm, as he is currently serving an appointive position in a local government unit.
