Deadline of Filing, Campaign Period, Election Period, and Calendar of Activities and Periods of Prohibited Acts (13 May 2019 National and Local Elections)

In its Resolution No. 10429 promulgated on 1 October 2018, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) prescribed the following calendar of activities and periods of prohibited acts in connection with the 13 May 2019 national and local elections.

9 October 2018 (Tuesday)

Last quarterly meeting for Election Registration Boards (ERBs) to approve/disapprove applications for registration, validation, etc., for areas covered by the plebiscite on the Organic Law for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, except Marawi City.

11 October, 2018 (Thursday) to 12 October 2018 (Friday) and 15 October 2018 (Monday) to 17 October 2018 (Wednesday)

Filing of Certificates of of Candidacy for all elective positions and filing of Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance.

Filing of Certificate of Nomination and Certificate of Acceptance of Nomination of Party-List Groups.

15 October 2018

Last day to file petition for exclusion of an overseas voter from the National Registry of Overseas Voters (NROV).

18 October 2018 (Thursday) 29 November 2018 (Friday)

Period within which the substitute of an official candidate of a political party or coalition, who withdrew his candidacy, may file certificate of candidacy.

Period within which the substitute of an official candidate of a political party or coalition, who died or was disqualified by final judgement, may file the substitute’s certificate of candidacy, so that the name of the substitute can still be printed on the official ballot.

9 November 2018 (Friday)

Last day to file a request for correction on the name to appear on the ballot.

30 November 2018 (Friday) up to mid-day of election day

Period within which the substitute of an official candidate of a political party or coalition, who died or was disqualified by final judgement, may file his certificate of candidacy, provided that the substitute candidate and the substituted candidate have the same surname.

13 January 2019 (Wednesday) to 12 June 2019 (Wednesday)

ELECTION PERIOD

12 February 2019 (Tuesday) to 11 May 2019 (Saturday)

Campaign period for candidates for Senator and party-list groups participating in the party-list system of representation (Section 5(a), R.A. 7166 and Section 4, R.A. 7941)

29 March 2019 (Friday) to 11 May 2019 (Saturday)

Campaign period for candidates for Member of the House of Representatives, and elective regional, provincial, city, municipal officials (Section 5(b), R.A. 7166)

13 May 2019 (Monday)
